!!!! Party !!!!

Saturday the 26th was Cameron's birthday party and
he chose to have his theme as Army this year.
This is the cake I made for him. I think it came out
pretty good. The little tanks and stars are candles.

This is a picture I took from my friend Kristi. She has a blog
called "Thimble Thoughts". Her picture was so cute that I wanted
it on my blog too.

This is Baby Ashlyn and Micheala being ushered in by
Bro. RJ. He and his wife are the youth directors of our church.

Micheala and Ethan Martin

Alanna Douglass and Naomi Carter

Joseph, he's the youngest Douglass but only till
next month. And then he will have a younger brother. =o)

Cameron had a good o'l time just having all his friends
at our house to play with. They were playing inside
as well as outside. There was about 20 kids here today!
Cameron, Malichi, Isaac, Joseph, Naomi, Alanna, and Abby
It looks like Abby wanted to 'help' open his presents.
He had got a lot of Transformers. Every time
someone asked what he wanted he would say 'Transformers'. lol

'Bumble Bee'

Cameron got a hat from Cheyenne, Naomi & Abby that
says 'Wild Child'.

Not my best picture, but at least I did get on
of the cake being cut.

Mrs. Janet (church secretary), Kristi, and Pam
Kristi asked for a piece of cake with a bunch of icing
on it. So, when Brian heard it, he scraped all the icing off. LOL
Needless to say, she gave it back. =o)
Alanna enjoying her cake.

After the party a few couples stayed over to help Brian
move some exersice equipment to another room.
And whenever we get together we're always going
to cook something! This time it was beef, chicken and shrimp
shish-ka-bobs. The guys Bro. Joel and Bro. Bruce did the
ka-bobs.....
and my Brian prepared the veggies to cook on the grill.
Don't they look all nice and pretty

At the end of the day we had a round of Cameron having
target practice on us.
Thanks Kristi!
Thank you all for coming to Cameron's party!
Thank you Mom and Mae for helping fix food and decorate too!
*Love ya all*

Friday, January 25th

Today we took Cameron out to eat at Logans for his birthday
and we were going to pick up 2 of his friends (Caleb and Nicole)
to go with us, but the whole family decided to go too.
Which was just fine by me! I love the company!
He just thinks that Caleb is the greatest.

This is my friend Pam. As you can tell, she is a nut.
So, we get along just fine! =o)

And tonight I finished icing Cameron's cake!!!
This year he wanted Army. There will be tanks
and stars on the cake as well as a number 4.
More pictures tomorrow.

Today my Cameron is 4 years old! It seems like the time
has just flown by and before long I'll be planning his 5th.
Today he just got cinnamon rolls because Saturday
he will have a cake with his party... you just can't not
have something for his special day!

We had a bunch of helicopters fly over the house
and I told Cameron that they heard that it was
his birthday and wanted to fly by and say
"Happy Birthday Cameron" ..lol

We got him a new bunk bed for his birthday

and he wanted Transformer sheets.

And he loves them =o)

Another birthday get-together

Sunday night after church we all gathered in the fellowship
building to celebrate Bro. Ken's birthday. Bro. Ken is our
adult sunday school teacher. He also thinks that duct tape
can fix anything. That's why his broken cake has tape on it.

We had a good many people show up from church.
From left to right: My Brian, Bro. Ted, and Bro. Joel.
Pastor Goodman is in the background with the
overcoat and hat on. (It was pretty cold outside)

This is my Mexican- loving friend Kristi (Heehehe)

We all gave gag gifts as Bro. Ken's birthday presents.
Here he got a box full of half used soaps and lotions!
We had a great time. And then Brian got a call and
had to go to work. Well, I guess that they know that
Brian can fix it all. =o)

Good Friends & Good Food

Saturday we were invited over to a friends house for Tex-Mex
and to play in the snow that we were supposed to get, but
it never did snow so we just ate and played games.
This is (from R to L) Cheyenne, Hannah, Nicole, and Abby.
Cameron eating his tex-mex. He eats the beef, chicken, shrimp
on top of chips with cheese sauce.

Naomi Carter
Look at that curly hair!

Abby
She just loved the cheese sauce so much
that she tried to wash her hair with it! LOL

(L to R) Hans, Naomi, Abigail, & Cameron.

Thanks Pam and Joel for the fun time.

It's pretty, isn't it?

We got about 2 inches of snow Wed. and Thur. morning.
So, when Cameron got up that morning he was ready to go out and play in the snow.
Getting his snow ball.

And then he threw it at me instead of the cats!
We were able to play, for a while, before the sleet and rain started.
It was fun!
And now they are saying that we might get some more snow today. I hope we will!

My cat 'Boot-Boots' paw print. This is his first snow. =o)

"The Butterfly Bush"

I just thought that I would share today's devotion with you. It's called the Butterfly Bush from the Baptist Bread.

"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." John 12:32

Back in the summer of 2007 I was preaching in Pennsylvania and I was staying in the home of the pastor. His sons had built a beautiful fenced in atio for their mother and it was festooned with lovely and fragrant flowers. One plant caught my attention and it's "attendants" brought about my query as to the nature aof the flowering bush. This particular plant was blessed with an abundance of blooms and comvered with the bouyant flittering about of the majestic butterflies. I asked the preacher and his wife what kind of plant it was that attracted the colorful congregation and they replied, "It's the butterfly bush." Made sense to me!
Just think, God created a bush that attracted butterflies of various kinds and colors, and they flocked to its fragrant flora. He also created a tree that was made into a cross upon which Jesus Christ was crucified. The lifting up of the Savior on the rugged tree of Calvary has become a wondrous attraction to sinners down through the centuries. Since Christ was lifted up from the earth, His drawing power has been resplendent in the lives of those who listened and recieved the gift of salvation. Verse 33 ("This he said, signifying what death he should die."), tells us that Christ was speaking of HIs crucifixion, as the ultimate drawing power in the conversion of a soul. To think that He would joyfully (Heb. 12:2) give His life for us should be all the reason one needs to come to Him.

Early Birthday

Today at Gram-Gram's house we celebrated an early birthday party for Cameron. He will be 4 later this month.
A new Tonka truck.

At the end of each helium balloon there was a Hot Wheel for him.

His cake had dinosaurs all over it. They were 'eating' it too. LOL

Drinking pickle juice.

We took the Christmas tree down today and Cameron helped.
Now to deal with those needles!

Today was such a beautiful day outside that we spent the morning out enjoying the sunshine.
Cameron was all tired out from playing too hard. =o)
