Welcome Dustin!

Ok, I'm back!!
I'm introducing the newest
member of our
family.....
Dustin!!!
Brian is such a proud Daddy!
Dustin was born on December the 10th
and he weighed 11 pounds 14.9 ounces.
His sugar was a little low from being a C-section
baby so they gave him a ounce of formula
out of a little cup. I have never before seen
a baby drink from a little medicine cup before.

Lights and Trees

These are some pictures of some lights we went
to see the other week.
This guy decorates his house and every year
he exspands his yard. This year they say
that he exspanded into his neighbor's yards.
They are all beautiful and he makes them
all himself!

Marvin the Martian

"Choo-Choo"

Spongebob and Patrick

this tree played Christmas music

This 'burning bush' was a neat one.

The grinch

~~~~~~~~Our Trees~~~~~~~~
This middle tree Cameron decorated all by himself.
And he set up the nativity scene too!
This is the first year that I used
just white lights on our tree.
It turned out to be red and white
and I think the prettiest one ever.
OK..... for some reason blogger put
these pictures out of order.
But I had to post Scooby and Shaggy for Cameron.
And last of all is Whinnie the Pooh and Tigger too.
Arent these pretty.
The other day Brian said that he saw a rainbow
on the way home from work. So, when I got
outside this is what I saw. It's like a piece of a rainbow.
And this sunset was just so pretty too.
And can you find Jupiter and Venus?
They are the two bright-looking stars.
New Christmas Poem
TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.
THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY.
THE SOLDIER AWAKENED
AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE,
'SANTA DON'T CRY,
THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE;
I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM,
I DON'T ASK FOR MORE,
MY LIFE IS MY GOD,
MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS.'
THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER
AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP,
I COULDN'T CONTROL IT,
I CONTINUED TO WEEP.
I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS,
SO SILENT AND STILL
AND WE BOTH SHIVERED
FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL.
I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE
ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT,
THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR
SO WILLING TO FIGHT.
THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER,
WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE,
WHISPERED, 'CARRY ON SANTA,
IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE.'
ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH,
AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT.
'MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND,!
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT.'
This poem was written by a Marine.
Black Friday
OK it's that time again!
It's time to get up early
on Friday morning to try
to beat the crowd to get
some really good deals.
We always try to get most
of our Christmas shopping
done this weekend.
We actually don't have that
many people to get for this
time. But I still like getting
up really early, bundling up
and getting out in the crowd.
I'm not sure when we will be
getting Cameron's gifts
though. I don't know if we'll
try to sneak some in while
we're out tomorrow or go
another day and leave him
with some friends.
Ok...it's time to get in bed
and try to get some sleep.
Have a good day shopping!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!
Ladies Thanksgiving
Tuesday was our ladies Thanksgiving meeting at our church.
We had a great time. The theme of our meeting
was "Sweeter As The Days Go By"
so everything was decked
out with candy.
I shared a table with the 3 stooges :)
Meghan, Kristi and Pam
There was a big turn out (thanks Mom for coming with me) and I think that everyone had a good time too.
There were a few games
One was guess the number of hershey kisses in a jar.
And the other was guess the number of reeses peanut butter cups in the other jar.
Me and another woman guessed the correct amount for the peanut butter cups. So, we had to guess a number from 1 to 10 and the closest won the jar.
They just happen to be one of my favories
and I won it!!!
These were the center pieces on every table.
Mrs. Tammy and the others that helped did a great job.
Our speaker for the night was Mrs. Kim O'Malley.
She did a wonderful job.
Some of our youth choir sang a special.
All in all it turned out to be a great time of fun, food and fellowship.
A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.
As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.
They talked about so many things and various subjects.
When they eventually touched on the subject of God,
the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.'
'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.
"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond
because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street
with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back
and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:
'You know what? Barbers do not exist.''How can you say that?'
asked the surprised barber.'I am here, and I am a barber.
And I just worked on you!''No!' the customer exclaimed.
'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no
people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'
'Ah, but barbers DO exist!
That's what happens when people do not come to me.
''Exactly!' affirmed the customer.
'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist!
That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help.
That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'
Stick People
I got these in an e-mail and thought that
ya'll would want to laugh along too.
