Discovery Day

Last Friday was our day together, just us, to go to Discovery Place.
First of all, Daddy had to stop and wash the pollen off the car
before we went anywhere. lol
Then it was a quick stop at the Cook-Out in Shelby
to get an early lunch to eat on the way.

We saw a lot of different things on the road... giant wheels,
the Catawba River,
and plenty of airplanes in Charlotte.
Here we are once inside the halls. Cameron is drawing

a picture on this giant swinging table. The Brown bear
I thought this was neat... an indoor tornado
Cameron telling the weather on TV
and Sweetie doing a good job too. :)

The Rain forest

This parrot was 'dancing' back and forth while watching all the kids.

The Aquariums

there are 2 star fish in this picture, can you spot them?

a cleaning shrimp

Sea horse

This was one huge lobster

The Gadget Room
In here their was a bunch of examples of how levers, pulleys and gears

Looking into forever

Dinosaurs

There was a pretty good sized dinosaur exibit here this time.

This T-Rex was walking

Dino skulls

Daddy and Cameron.
The dinos in the back moved too.

Norman Rockwell Exhibit
This was pretty something! It was called the Norman Rockwell halls.
Every thing in here was recreated like it was back in Rockwell's time.

Rockwell painting a portrait of himself.

Old time barber shop

Old appliance repair shop with working TVs and radios.

Cameron liked the cash register. lol

There was even a school house set up like it was
back in the old days that you could walk through.

There was a frog in Cameron's desk. =o)

An old time soda shop

All these old phones were working ones.

You could call all the other shops that were set up.

Cameron loved this old train set.

And close to the end of the exhibit was set up

with things from the war time.

Cameron liked this old jeep.

On our way back out we stopped at a few mirrors for Cam to check out.

Then last of all was the toddler play room.

He's playing with toy boats in this little water table.

I liked this doll house.... don't you?
Then on the way home ....
we saw a blimp! It's not every day you see one of those.
