Brian's Truck

Saturday morning when Brian was on his way to
work he wound up deer hunting with his truck. lol
He didn't have any time to turn to one side or the
other before he hit a deer that came running out
of a person's yard and across the road.

I was just thankful that he was going pretty slow

or things could have been worse than this.

Thankfully Brian is alright! He and his brother will

be taking it apart this weekend. And perhaps he will be

able to repair it. He likes to do things like that and we

have another car to drive, so he can do this on his own time.

(Oh yeah, there is a deer somewere in the Boiling Springs

area that has pieces of a grill in it's side. hehe)

Chimney Rock Trip

Hey, yesterday we had our bus church and
we had a bunch of kids that showed up. I
guess that since school has started again,
the kids have settled into a routine and
are starting to come back more regularly.
But after all the kids were taken back home,
a few of us took a trip to chimney rock to have
a cook out and a time of fellowship.

Our first stop was at the river side to play in
the water and just relax.

Cameron wanted to throw rocks in the water.

Mrs. Janet was trying to get her camera out to
take some pictures but her battery somehow
ended up being drained. So she asked me to take some pictures for her Above is Bro. Greg and Kendra, below is Caleb,
Cameron and Jordan

Adventures in rock climbing
Everyone say "Cheese"
Bro. Greg, E., Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Janet, Cameron,
Mrs. Pam, Mrs. Amanda and Carissa, Kendra and Jacob

Aint he just the cutest little man!!Clayton doing his own thing

Then we rode the rest of the way up the mountain

to have our little cook out.

At the top there is a old grave yard and a gigantic
apple orchard. Were we all had a apple or two.

Right after we parked and got out Bro. Brad (Kelly's husband)

said to make sure we watch out for snakes.

And sure enough there was a baby snake right behind the suburban.

We made sure that we told 'Daddy' about the snake

He had to work that day but he'll get to come the next time. While we were getting some things set out,

Cameron came to me and said "Look what I found!"

he was holding a wiggly worm. lol I told him to quick

go show Mrs. Pam! (she can't stand any kind of crawly thing)

And of course, Cameron had his backpack full

of toys that everyone shared and played on

the steps of the old church.
After our little picnic we headed back down the

mountain. But we were just a little too late to hit

the gift shops. So, we just stoped at the ice cream

shop and we all sat outside and just enjoyed the

cool mountian air and the sun going behind the hills.Cameron got orange sherbert, I got my all time

favorite rocky-road and Pam got something chocolate

I just can't quite remember but I do know it didn't

have any nuts in it.And last but not least, this is Jacob that

Mrs. Kellywas taking care of for a while.

Aint he cute sitting on the bear!

Not For The Squemish

Dog Pack Attacks Gator In Florida
At times nature can be cruel, but there is also
a raw beauty, and even a certain justice
manifested within that cruelty.
The alligator, one of the oldest and
ultimate predators, normally considered
the 'apex predator', can still fall victim to
implemented 'team work' strategy, made
possible due to the tight knit social
structure and 'survival of the pack mentality'
bred into the canines.
See the remarkable photograph below courtesy
of Nature Magazine. Note that the Alpha dog
has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it
from breathing, while another dog has a hold
on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third
dog attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.
Not for the squeamish!
